Centre Directors

We're Shainoor and Tamiza, and we're thrilled to be the owners and directors of the brand-new Oxford Learning Calgary Acadia!

Here's a little more about us:

Shainoor

Growing up, I always had a passion for helping others. As I grew older, I wanted to focus this on being an educator. Well, life got in the way and my path changed for a while. Having four children meant that I was a full-time stay-at-home mom. Once all four were in school full-time, I asked myself the question, “What do I want to be when I grow up?”

This was the exact time that Tamiza asked me what I thought of Oxford Learning, and so the journey began. I am truly excited to see kids learn new things, help them build their self-esteem and build their confidence. 

Our great team of teachers all have just as much passion as I do to introduce Oxford Learning to as many families as we can and really help each child reach their full potential.

Tamiza

Tamiza is a long-time educator with over 15 years of experience in the classroom. She holds the following degrees and certifications: B. Ed, ECE, MACTE.

Tamiza has also owned and operated two other Oxford Learning locations in Toronto - Oxford Learning Don Valley since 2016 and Oxford Learning York Mills since 2023!

Her hobbies include travelling, baking and crafting. Tamiza and her teams manage the day-to-day operations at their Oxford Learning centres.

Safia Ali

Education Coordinator and Teacher

Hello! My name is Safia, and I’m the Education Coordinator at Oxford Learning Calgary Acadia. I hold a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Calgary, where I also worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant, guiding students through complex math and science concepts. I’m passionate about helping students overcome challenges and discover their potential.

I also dedicate time to volunteering with a non-profit organization, where I assist with administrative tasks to help organize donation processes for women and children in need.

In addition to my love for teaching, I enjoy painting, sketching, and indulging in my favourite foods—especially pizza and brownies! I believe that learning should be fun and engaging, and I’m excited to work with students and their families to make a difference in their academic journeys. I look forward to helping children achieve their goals and build confidence at Oxford Learning!

Margaret Abolarin

Education Coordinator and Teacher

Hey there! I'm Margaret, the second Education Coordinator at Oxford Learning Calgary Acadia. I'm all about brains – studying them and helping them grow. I have a solid background in neuroscience, especially when it comes to how our minds work and influence our actions.

Ever since my university days, I've been hooked on teaching. There's just something magical about watching a student's eyes light up when they finally get a tough concept. I truly believe that every single one of us has something special to offer, and I'm here to help kids uncover their hidden talents.

I enjoy reading novels, hiking, baking, watching movies, and watching soccer games. My favourite food is Shrimp Alfredo Pasta, and when it comes to sweet treats, I cannot resist red velvet cake!

My goal is to give back to the community by sharing what I know. I want to create a place where learning isn’t just about memorizing facts, but about discovering who you are and what you're capable of.

I look forward to embarking on this learning adventure together!
