I've struggled with severe ADHD my entire life, and it's made focusing and paying attention in school really difficult. That's when I enrolled in Oxford Learning and everything changed. They taught me about my learning style and how to ACTUALLY study, and what works best for me. They helped with my time management and planning skills, which was one of my biggest struggle. I wouldn't have been able to succeed without the help of the amazing tutors here at Oxford Learning. I am forever grateful for the safe and comfortable environment here for me to learn. Thank you Oxford Learning.Emily M.
"It was a real pleasure to join this wonderful centre. You did an awesome job with the kids, I really appreciate it. Thank you so much for your kind cooperation."Anonymous Parent
I’ve been coming to Oxford Learning for 4 years now. They have supported me all the way through my high school career. They have helped greatly, the environment is amazing, all the teachers are amazing, and I’m sad to say goodbye. I don’t know where I’d be without them; they helped me achieve that which I never could on my own.Jack S.
My sons attended Oxford Learning for the 2015/2016 school year. I highly recommend the program and this centre. With the assistance of the teachers there, both boys were able to improve their marks and maintain them throughout the school year. Apart from the boost in marks, I also credit Oxford Learning North in helping their school year go by smoothly and with reduced anxiety. If there was a particular homework assignment or test they needed help on, they took it with them to their Oxford Learning session and got the personalized help they needed from their Oxford Learning teacher. The boost of confidence and reduced anxiety levels experienced by the kids on a weekly basis made the Oxford Learning program well worth it. In addition, the administration at Oxford North is well organized, flexible, and responsive, which helps when you’re a parent trying to balance busy schedules. Overall, I highly recommend the program and this centre. Thank you so much, Oxford Learning. Well done. Vinita VVinita V
"Thank you for showing my husband and I around your centre. You were most helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly! We really appreciate your help!"Anonymous Parent
Oxford has helped me out greatly through this year. Due to me doing virtual school these past 2 years, it was a little difficulty for me to transition back to in person learning. Through this ordeal, Oxford helped me greatly, allowing me to save classes for days that I wouldn’t come in and use those for upcoming assessments , the tutors being very friendly and kind towards me, and making me feel at home in the learning environment. Overall, Oxford is a great place that has many outstanding staff and students who will help you feel like you can do your best in school and succeed academically.Umar Zia
I know it is hard to decide when shopping around for services and products especially when the investment is related to the future of our children as is the case of education. Oxford Learning is more than a tutoring place for students; teachers at Oxford Learning have not only the knowledge and experience but also the passion, dedication, commitment, and compassion to help students strive. My son has been with Oxford Learning 3 years now and he has a strong foundation in math which is now helping him to move forward with greater confidence. His critical thinking and reasoning have improved, as has his his mental math and word problem skills. My son loves coming to Oxford Learning because it is also a place where he has made new friends and has fun at the amazing parties they host. If you are looking for the best place to tutor your child, look no further and come to Oxford Learning. Thanks, Caitlin, from the bottom of our hearts Jenny & JavierJavier Y.
We can’t express enough gratitude for the transformation of our six-year-old daughter! Isabelle finished SK very challenged. She was unsure of letters and the sounds they make. She had little confidence and hardly spoke in class. After meeting with Caitlin and her team I knew we found the right place. The past summer was starting from ground zero. Slowly but surely Isabelle began to develop strategies to help her learn. She loved coming to Oxford Learning and looked forward to it. In addition, her confidence was growing as she started to learn her letters and their sounds and how to sound out words. Her progress has been steady and honestly, we can’t believe how far she’s come. She found the homework fun and wanted to do it. Isabelle now participates in class. Her school report card indicates she’s exactly where she should be at her age. It’s hard to believe months ago she didn’t know her letters and was unwilling to learn. I recommend Oxford Learning Oakville North. A truly rewarding experience!Cecylia M.
My son joined Oxford Learning last year. Every time he attends he says that he not only learns a lot, but he enjoys the teachers as well. His recent report card has shown improvement in not only his English and math but also his focus. The environment of Oxford Learning is a safe and friendly place where my son constantly keeps telling me how much he enjoys his time there. It's a very healthy atmosphere with great staff all around. Caitlin is very accommodating and always keeps me in the loop as to how well my son has progressed as well as giving me tips on how I can help at home too. We are very happy at our Oakville location. Thanks so much for bringing my son's potential and ability to life.Anne marie
Our son is in grade 8 and has been going to Oxford Learning since Grade One. Every August we ask him if he wants to go back to Oxford Learning and the answer is always a resounding "YES!" In addition to the wonderful caring staff, our son tells us that what he likes most about going to Oxford Learning is that it gives him confidence when he is at school because he is already familiar with the concepts. Because of the support he gets at Oxford Learning, Sam does great at school and seeks the help of his instructors whenever he has a text, etc. Because of Oxford Learning (and of course Caitlin and her staff) we have great peace of mind regarding our son's educational success!Pouneh R.
My son's confidence has grown over the years while being in this program. Although his attendance hasn't been consecutive over his elementary years, Oxford Learning has always fit him in around what works best for his busy schedule. The Oxford Learning team of teachers have made him feel encouraged to work hard and set his mind to whatever subject he is working on. It even taught him new study habits he can take with him in his high school years! He feels safe and respected and that the teachers really care about him. I was so encouraged that this program works closely with his teachers to find out what exactly was being taught in the classroom. As a parent, it was so nice to have meetings with the director as a checking-in time to see how he was doing. Even though there are other learning centres out there, this one by far has exceeded my expectations and would highly recommend this program to all ages. Thank you, Oxford Learning! I have one happy boy and a great report card :)Mari-Rae D.
A huge thank you to all the staff at Oxford Learning. Our daughter’s teachers in the Halton Public School she attended wanted to have her tested for special needs in grade 3. After around 18 months in Oxford Learning, she is approaching grade level in English and reading, and now we are working on math. Our daughter would be in a very different place had it not been for this organisation. She has developed strategies to help her learn and is much more confident. I have also noticed that the school year is less of a challenge for her. We feel confident that she is now able to achieve her goals. If it had not been for Oxford Learning North along with Caitlin and her amazing team, our daughter would have spent many years on an IEP. This would have had a huge effect on her future. Thank you all for your support, flexibility, and quite simply believing every child has the potential to achieve anything they want to in life.Very thankful parents
Dear Ms. Caitlin Cassidy, First of all, I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere thanks for taking your time to write me this letter. As you already know, my two sons Andy and Peter and my nephew Thomas , are attending your reputable Oxford Learning, Oakville North centre. My wife and I are very happy and quite satisfied with their study and performance after one year studying at your school. We are also very glad that our nephew has been accepted early into Mohawk College. For my two sons, we are also proud that they have improved tremendously and performed so well at their schools. As parents, we just want the kids to do well in school, and of course, this has happened with the wonderful guidance of your teachers, directors, and coordinators… It also brings us peace of mind just to know that our kids are in good hands. We can never express enough thanks and appreciation to you and the staff at your school. Thanks again. Sincerely yours, TAMTam V.
This is an amazing educational set up for kids. The teachers and Caitlin not only teach the requested material (in our case English & Math) but they ensure that their kids are emotionally built up as well. My older boy absolutely loved going there and my middle daughter would want to go into Oxford Learning Oakville North every time we drove by their facility. I was always impressed by the attention to detail when it came to planning their Christmas or Valentine's day parties - they go above and beyond every time to make everyone feel welcome. The progress feedback was very honest and when my kids needed a lot of help, it was specific enough where I could work with them at home and even bring some of those points to their regular school teachers. When my kids got to the point where they were achieving high results, Caitlin put her educational hat on before the business and stated that it would be okay to take them out, as the intense level of support was no longer needed. Although it was purely a financial decision for us to move on, I appreciated the honesty and thought her feedback speaks to the character of teachers this facility attracts. Additionally, every teacher we've dealt with is kind to parents and understanding when we arrive a few minutes late. Overall, the whole experience exceeded my expectation and I feel that I walked away with a child who not only read better but felt good about themselves. Keep up the great work - you matter so much in the whole process of building a self-fulfilled little human :). Thank you again! MarijanaMarijana H.
Our son joined Oxford Learning Centre in Oakville 1 year ago when he was halfway through Grade 1. Our goal was to improve his speaking, reading and writing skills. We found the answer in Oxford Learning. It was very comforting working with their amazing teachers. They are flexible, work with small groups, and closely monitor my son’s progress. Not only did they help my son achieve his academic goals but also improved his self-esteem. Even during the pandemic, they manage to keep running classes effectively and maintain a 2:1 ratio. He made excellent progress and now is ready to move on. I’m very grateful and wouldn’t doubt to contact the Centre again if we need further assistance. Thank you! CeciliaCecilia
My son suffers from anxiety and started attending Oxford last year when it started affecting his school attendance and his marks. The teachers were very welcoming, understanding and informative and transformed his studies. He has gained a positive perspective towards learning and we have seen a drastic improvement in his grades. The centre is always helpful and flexible when changes need to be made to the schedule and there is always an open dialogue about what strategies are working best and what needs to be changed moving forward. My son enjoys attending the classes; he finds the teachers extremely helpful (especially Sarah) and has met new friends. My husband and I wish we had enrolled him at the centre sooner. We want to send a big thank you out to everyone at Oxford Learning Centre for all their help.Marie H.
When my son went into Grade 9, I saw that he was having challenges and it started to show quickly in his grades. He was especially disappointed with his Math grades given that up to grade 8 he had high Math marks and decent grades in his other subjects. His grades also took a toll on his confidence. So, I quickly did research on Tutoring Organizations and selected Oxford Learning because of its great testimonials and because of the impressive meeting I had with Caitlin. My son was not fully onboard at the beginning, but Caitlin and the great teachers at Oxford helped to get him onboard and resulted in improving his grades and confidence in his abilities. Oxford cares about their students and puts them first. Caitlin and her staff always go above and beyond for their students and have been extremely flexible and accommodating especially with my son’s Rep hockey schedule. During COVID, I do not think my son would have survived or done as well as he did without Oxford Learning. They provided the much-needed online classes and support that his school was not providing. I was extremely impressed at how quickly Caitlin and her staff setup the online classes to support their students. My son is going into grade 12 and is still a student with Oxford and we are so glad to have them by our side.Anonymous
Oxford Learning in Oakville North has been amazing for our children. The teachers are absolutely amazing and our children love the program. They prioritize their students above everything else. Highly recommend the Oakville North location.Neena Jetely
My son has been in Oxford Learning for several years now. He absolutely loves it. They are fantastic with him! He thoroughly enjoys being there. I have found that he has been excelling in core areas such as math and reading as a result. I highly recommend them!Ashley Q.
My daughter progressed so well with Oxford Learning. The team had a plan and they knew exactly how to get her there. Amazing team, great spirit, and always there when you need them. Very flexible in accommodating changes in schedule. Highly recommended for kids who need extra help and others who need to be challenged.Rana D.
I’d like to take a moment to share how incredible the experience has been dealing with both staff and management here at this location. The owner, Caitlin, treats every child and their unique needs as her utmost priority and aligns the students with the best teachers and coaches. She makes it her utmost priority to keep each student’s progress the most important focus. I absolutely love Sarah, who is a teacher like none other. She is focused and extremely dedicated to ensuring that all her students get the most attention and focus in achieving their goals. All the staff members are very positive and pleasant. If your priority is your child’s progress in school and ultimately helping them build a successful career, Oxford Learning is the place to go. I cannot thank this entire team enough, for helping my daughter believe in herself and progress so well.Nagma
The staff is all WONDERFUL! They are so caring, the kids love going to class, and are flourishing.Heli I.

The staff at Oxford Learning Oakville is AMAZING! They are super friendly and helpful. Our daughter has been going there for 2 years now and the results are fantastic. Her confidence has skyrocketed and enjoys doing her school work. I would recommend Oxford Learning Oakville to anyone who requires the services.Jason G.
My daughter started Oxford Learning in Grade 8. They really helped to ease that transition into high school. She is now in Grade 10 and dealing with Covid, I’m glad we have a place like Oxford Learning to help.C.W.
The whole team at Oxford Learning is incredible! They have been working with my son for the past 2 years since he was 4 years old and he is now reading and writing at grade 2 level (and he’s only in SK). They are vibrant and energetic teachers that can engage children to love learning and want to keep going to the centre. I would highly recommend sending your child to the centre as it can make such an impact. My son loves his teachers at the centre.Geetha
My daughter joined Oxford Learning a couple of years ago and I am really glad I made this decision. All the staff are very welcoming and have a positive approach toward the students. My daughter needed help with English comprehension and math and now over the period of years I am so happy with her progress so are her teachers. She improved so much in her grammar, structure sentences, editing and organizing her paragraph writing. Hats off to Oxford Learning teachers for brushing up my child's creativity and math skills.Uzma H.
My daughter had a great year at Oxford Learning. She was very happy with her teachers and the very friendly staff. They were very helpful and accommodating our busy schedule. The academic approach used is very effective. We immediately noticed her improvement and her gain of confidence. We are very grateful for all their support this year.Maissaa
The staff are incredible. They really got to know my children and catered to their needs and learning styles. My children attended without arguing and were motivated to go. As a result, we noticed an improvement in self confidence, independence and organization. I would highly recommend Oxford. Thank you for your continued support!Annie
Amazing! All the teachers are super friendly and really care about helping you succeed. My math and English marks have gone up and I can really feel the improvements I've made since starting. I am much more confident in school now and I always enjoy coming to Oxford Learning.Talia

The Oxford Learning Oakville team is amazing! Tutors are quite knowledgeable and understand the struggle from the student's perspective, so, they are really helping the students in a broader sense. My son attended Oxford Learning during his 4 years of High School, as it was when he started High School that we realized he had big gaps in his knowledge 'foundation' (created during his Elementary school years), caused by the school system combined with his learning disability and a somewhat helpful IEP. At Oxford Learning, they discovered those foundation gaps and tackled them throughout the years, Not only he was able to become an independent student, but he also graduated as an Ontario Scholar! His success doesn't stop there: when it was time for him to apply to University he said "I'll attend the school that accepts me". With the help of Oxford Learning, his mindset changed to "There are only really two universities that I want to attend, however, I want to apply to another four as I do not want to feel pressured and have options." He got admitted to all six universities that he applied to (Waterloo, UTM, Guelph, Queens, York, and Western), and he was happy to accept the offer at Western, as it had always been his top choice! So, do I recommend Oxford Oakville? Yes, I do! Because without the support of his tutors, and all the accommodations and options given by the administrative team to him while being in lockdown, he wouldn't have achieved a goal that was set as a result of the Oxford Learning team telling him "no, you will attend the University that you WANT to attend, not the one that will just TAKE you."Adriana R.
Amazing Team of exceptional, dedicated Tutors. They are making a difference as they are supporting not only academic performance but, most importantly, they are concentrating on personal growth, confidence and individual learning path. My special thank you to Kelly-Anne, a highly professional, knowledgeable and caring educator passionate about each student's success. Her dedication, excellent communication and most important genuine care make Oakville Oxford Learning a home where students are looking forward to coming to study, asking questions and getting clarifications and returning each year. Thank you !Roma Kolpak
From the first day I walked into the building, Oxford Learning was a warm and welcoming experience. The time our daughter has spent there has been life-changing for her. She has been reminded how smart she is and rebuilt her confidence. After two-and-a-half years online, our daughter lost herself. The amazing staff helped her find herself again. The best move we have ever made was Oxford Learning Oakville.Bonnie U

Greetings! Je m’appelle Caitlin, and I do not speak French, and am not an Ontario-Certified teacher! However, I possess degrees in English and History (and soon, Management too)! More importantly, I am the eldest of five siblings: an opportunity that has facilitated my understanding of children and their beautiful, unique personalities. Furthermore, having grown up watching my parents guide and respect my siblings and I in the very different ways we required validated that every child, regardless of his or her strengths, is capable of achieving ANYTHING.
Oxford Learning has provided me with the gift of working for, and now with, an organization that strives to teach kids how to succeed, and as I approach my ninth year with Oxford Learning, this realization holds true more than ever.
Although the academic standards of this centre are impeccable, and the school success of our students undeniable, I pride our facility on its commitment to fostering a safe and supportive environment for our kids. In my opinion, believing in a child is the greatest gift we can offer our students, and that’s exactly what we do here. Welcome to OXFORD LEARNING OAKVILLE NORTH.
P.s. I love to read (mostly fiction), dance (ballet is my forte, but I love all genres), cook (everything), bake (desserts that do not contain fruits), run (long-distance: more so because I’m stubborn rather than talented), Christmas (for its cookies, movies, songs, decorations, and the magic that brings people together), chocolate (in all forms), my friends and family, and my superstar husband (Marko)!

Hi there! My name is Kelly-Anne, and I am the Lead Education Coordinator here at Oakville North, who specializes in teaching Primary/Junior and High School English! Over the years, I have had the tremendous opportunity of being surrounded by kiddies from various age groups. From close family, work experiences, and of course, babysitting, I have learned that the most important part of children’s success is feeling supported. With support and encouragement, children are motivated and excited to apply their very best skills. Personally, this is very motivating to me, as I believe there is nothing better than being surrounded by our kids’ unconditional happiness and contagious laughter. I feel very lucky to have been here for almost 5 years, growing and learning alongside each and every one of our Oxford kiddies. Apart from my love for children, I also love to dance! My favourite thing to do in my spare time is to spend time with family and friends, as well as find new adventures! My favourite summer activities are camping and visiting the beach.

Hey there! My name is Aqsa and I’m an elementary and high school teacher here at Oxford. I recently graduated from the University of Toronto Mississauga with a Bachelor of Science, majoring in psychology and criminology. As such, much of my educational background is focused on topics of child development, mental health, and social inequalities within major institutions, including the education system. Furthermore, I have prior experience working with kids through babysitting, tutoring, and of course through being the older sister of two younger siblings. I am incredibly lucky to take my experiences and knowledge and to be able to apply them to both my teaching methods, and to the way I interact with the kids I work with. My goal is to make children understand that they are capable of more than they realize, and to provide the support and encouragement that will enable them to be successful. My work has been incredibly rewarding, and I am so lucky to be able to be doing such meaningful work. Hi, I’m Ioana (pronounced like Moana but with a Y). I love working at Oxford Learning because it gives me the opportunity to be in a truly positive and uplifting environment in which everyone’s first and foremost intention is to support the students in their academic and personal development. As a certified teacher (UofT), I believe that my duty is not just academic excellence but also ensuring the students feel so wholly safe, appreciated and supported that they dare to truly be themselves and recognize that they already have the source of confidence, strength and knowledge within them. Aside from teaching, I love spending time with my family and deepening my daily meditation and Bhakti Yoga practices. I strive to live a minimalistic, sustainable lifestyle and to be a conscious and responsible citizen of the world, giving back in whatever way I can. A fun fact about me is that I absolutely love English. It has always been my favourite subject so it’s no wonder that I became an English and ESL teacher. The interesting thing is that I used to be an ESL student myself. English is my second language. I moved to Canada when I was 12, but my knowledge of English has now far surpassed that of my native tongue, Romanian.

Hi! My name is Michael, and I teach Math, Stats and Physics here at the Oxford learning centre. I have a BSc in Mathematics and Statistics from McMaster University and have just recently graduated with a MSc in Applied Math from The University of Guelph, where I worked as a teaching assistant for first-year calculus courses. I've had a weird relationship with math. I struggled with the subject greatly when I was in high school, so I understand when students feel anxious, frustrated or lack confidence around their math or physics work. It wasn't until university that I fell in love with the subject and started to find success with it. This is why I always encourage students not to count themselves out -- you are smarter and more capable than you think. When I teach, I encourage all of my students to explain their math to me in plain English. After all, math is a language and languages are learned through conversation. My favourite part about teaching is seeing students gain confidence in themselves after successfully solving a problem – whether it is my younger students or my university-level students, this never gets old. In my spare time I like to golf, play basketball or spend time with my family, friends and pets.

Hi there! My name is Arjun, and I am a Highschool math and physics tutor here at Oxford Oakville North. I have worked part-time at Oxford for the better half of 4 years while being a full-time student at McMaster. I graduated from McMaster in the winter of 2020 with a B.Sc. in Mathematics and a minor in computer science. Afterwards, I entered the data science world by completing a Bootcamp program at UofT. I currently work full-time as a data engineer at an IT solutions company called Microserve. Over the years, I have seen the journeys of many students from varying backgrounds come to Oxford and thrive with the great environment and resources here at their disposal. My approach to tutoring, especially when it comes to Math, is not to memorize questions/solutions but rather to understand the process behind them … which is done through tons of discussion, so if your child complains about me talking a lot, I apologize in advance!
I’ve had a passion for math-related subjects since I was a child (ex, I would beg my parents to give arithmetic problems on any road trip we’d have). That being said, I hope my attitude towards these subjects and my past experiences as a tutor can help us achieve your academic goals. I truly believe that with the right mindset and proper work ethic, we can accomplish some great things together!

Hey everyone! My name's Arvind and I'm a Chemistry and Biology teacher at Oxford Oakville North. I'm entering my fourth year at the University of Toronto for Biotechnology. My goal is to pursue a master's in Physiotherapy and hopefully open up my own clinic one day! I'm very excited to be teaching Chemistry and Biology to students. I've learned so much about these subjects and I'm very passionate about teaching them. I've always learned by teaching others and I feel this way of learning can make students fully grasp natural science concepts. Throughout High School, I've had the opportunity to volunteer at a tutoring centre, where I taught students from elementary and middle school. Moreover, I was also a soccer coach for U10 kids. These experiences really allowed me to develop valuable interpersonal skills with the youth, and it is very rewarding passing down knowledge that I've gained onto them! Rather than regurgitating information from a textbook, I want students to truly understand concepts in ways that they've never thought of before. I like to be engaging with students so that they can find passion in learning. I'm very grateful for this opportunity! Outside of teaching, I love playing the guitar, producing music, working out, reading, and filming/editing videos. If you love soccer or rock/metal music, please talk to me about it!

Ahoy! My name is David and I’m a teacher for High School Math and Science at Oxford. I recently graduated from McMaster University with a degree in engineering and I am excited to use my academic experience to help children succeed at school! I’ve always been interested in knowing how things work in our world as well as understanding the behaviours of many scientific phenomena, such as the flow of heat and fluids. There are so many amazing applications of science all around us in our daily lives from cars and airplanes to smartphones and computers. Many kids often see science and math as separate subjects, but I believe that math can be a great tool that can help us learn even more about the natural and engineered world! My goal as a teacher here at Oxford is to show students the cool side of science and math and make learning a fun and engaging experience! Personally, I am a big fan of cinema, especially arthouse and indie films, and I frequently organize movie marathons with friends. I also love board games and video games. Getting together with friends for a night of Monopoly and Code Names are always awesome! There are also some fantastic video games out there too! Some of my recent favourites are Elden Ring and Valheim.

I have a background in Commerce and Political Science, along with a commitment to providing individualized support. I would like to be known for my patient and encouraging approach. I also understand every student has unique learning needs, and I try to make the learning process as enjoyable and accessible as possible. I have experience teaching primarily English and Math, to students in kindergarten to grade eight. I try to break down complex problems to manageable steps, to help students build confidence and develop a passion for learning. A little more about me is I have a twin brother, along with two younger twin sisters (two sets of twins). I grew up in Mississauga, and practiced Volleyball, Basketball, and Karate competitively while attending school. I play the guitar, produce music, and read poetry in my free time.

Elementary/High School Math, Science and English Teacher
Hi! My name is Michela and I am an elementary and high school tutor here at Oxford Learning! I recently graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honours Bachelor of Science, studying chemistry, physiology, and English literature. I have tutored high school students in a variety of subjects since 2017, and have recently had experience supplying for the HCDSB. As an older sister, and the eldest of ten cousins, I have always found myself taking on a leadership role in which I can nurture and provide guidance to those around me. Oxford has been the perfect environment in which I can apply my love for teaching alongside my passion/knowledge of my favourite subjects. Anyone who has taught/tutored students before would probably agree that the best part of the job is seeing students grow their confidence in the subjects they are learning. I’m here to provide the assistance and encouragement that will allow each and every student to be the very best they can be! Aside from teaching, you can find me with my nose in a book, cooking/baking, or watching sports (go Bills!).

Hey! My name is Jason and I am a French and English tutor here at Oxford Oakville North. I graduated from the University of Toronto in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree majoring in Art & Art History, and I did a double minor in Visual Culture andCinema Studies. I have a passion for learning new languages and a lifelong dedication both to writing and creating art, and my goal as a teacher is to make these subjects as fascinating to students as they are to me. I greatly enjoy passing on my knowledge to anyone who will listen, and I firmly believe that a good teacher who is passionate about their subject makes all the difference to their students. My favourite part of teaching has to be seeing my students gain the confidence to apply their knowledge to any task they have at hand. With languages especially, you will find that there are many different ways to express your thoughts not limited to textbook speech, and it is very rewarding to see my students adapt their speech and writing to better express themselves. In my spare time I like to cook, read, and play games as well as go for long hikes with my family.

Hey there! I’m Ethan and I am a tutor at Oxford Oakville North! I tutor both elementary students (all subjects) and high-school students (English/French). I will be receiving my B.Sc. in Psychology and French Language Teaching and Learning from the University of Toronto this spring. I love working with children and have been doing so since I was 14 years old. I volunteered with the City of Mississauga as a camp volunteer for 3 years, before working with them as a Summer Camp Leader for another 3. I started off my experiences tutoring by helping a small group of family friends with French, and then made the move to Oxford in September 2022 to continue pursuing my passion of helping children succeed. My favourite part of working at Oxford Oakville North is helping children overcome any challenges and watching them progress over time. My goal is to help all students develop the strategies, confidence, and work-ethic needed to achieve all of their academic goals!

Hey everyone! My name is Jelena, and I am so happy to be an elementary tutor here at Oxford! I graduated from the University of Toronto in 2021 with a major in Sociology and double minors in Biology and Education Studies. I am currently in my first year of the Master of Teaching program at UofT’s Ontario Institute of Studies in Education (OISE). I am in the Primary-Junior stream (K- grade 6) and hope to teach in an elementary school classroom of my own one day! In terms of my experience working with children, I have worked with a wide range of age groups. I have volunteered running programs with teenagers, teaching pre kindergarteners in a childcare centre, working in a daycare centre as an Early Childhood Assistant, and working as an Early Childhood Assistant in a before and after school program for school-aged children. As you can see, I’ve always been inclined to working with kids as it truly is my passion! Fun fact, I have a little brother who was born on my 6th birthday!

Hello! My name is Salman, and I am an Elementary English and Math tutor at Oakville North. I attended UW for Rhetorical Writing, so English is my specialty and passion! I believe that the ability to communicate effectively is of paramount importance in all walks of life. If I can help a student hone their writing and communication skills, they may find it easier to voice their opinions, passions, and concerns with precision in the future. The idea of that as a possibility motivates me. Mainly though, it’s the kids’ hilariously imaginative outlook on life that brings me joy and keeps me coming back! I come from a large extended family with many little kiddos walking around, so I feel fortunate to have that experience to refer to when trying to connect with my students. As for my life outside of tutoring, I love to make music, rock climb, and hang out with my friends!
