We have 2 boys attending Grade 11 and 9. Now that the school year has been turned upside down, the virtual class at Oxford Learning has refocused their efforts in academics. The tutoring and the work are a great compliment to each other. Our boys feel like they are attending a normal lesson back at Oxford Learning, except now they are sitting at their desks at home. This transition is seamless and will only aid their studies once regular school class recommences.

My son is a 13-year-old high-functioning autistic. When school ended and Oxford Learning had to close its doors I got a bit nervous. From being in the business world I knew that technology (Zoom for instance) existed for video interaction but wasn't sure how quickly Oxford Learning could adapt and whether or not it would work for my son. To see that I am happy would be an understatement. He is able to focus a lot better from home than he ever was at the centre and I feel like we get more out of the hour. I have nothing but rave reviews for the zoom meetings with Oxford Learning.

Our son needed to write his SAT in order to attend a university on an athletic scholarship in the United States. When we started investigating courses, we were pleased to see SAT prep on the Oxford Learning website because it was a more convenient location for us than heading over to Buffalo for a course. The preparation given by Oxford Learning, and in particular, the expertise of Shafia, was outstanding! The centre director, Emily, was wonderful and gave us so much confidence in the process and provided us with lots of flexibility on how Nick could best take advantage of the program. He scored very well and achieved his goal of attending a highly rated US school in Boston. Due to Covid-19, my son has been unable to attend his Oxford Learning classes that he so desperately needs. But Oxford Learning stepped up to the plate very quickly with its online platform. My son has been able to get all his one-on-one (or small group) classes in weekly, and for myself and him, it has been an easy set up without any hassles. Paul is more confident in his writing and he is more independent now. He doesn’t say, “I need dad to help,” Oxford Learning is not another tutoring centre. You actually teach the students and don’t use the smoke and mirrors to keep everyone confused. You do not guess at what to do with a student. If any parent asks about the difference between Oxford Learning and Sylvan or other places, they can call me and I will tell them. We wasted seven months of time at a place that was not Oxford Learning. We could have been at Oxford Learning for that time and made so much more progress.
