Testimonials

"At home, we struggled with getting homework done. Our role as parents got tougher and tougher as every night we battled to get the homework done. When Oxford Learning came into play, that battle became much less difficult. Not only did our son's grades and confidence improve, but things at home were also much better." - Ruby P. (Parent)

"We hope everyone at Oxford Learning in the Junction has been well during this latest lockdown... We wanted to share an update on some things we are seeing with Xavier... When our school first switched to online learning in the spring, Xavier struggled a great deal to be interested, motivated and be able to follow along with what was expected. We attributed part of this to the limited time online with his teacher and a lot of asynchronous learning time we had to hand-hold him through. He did gravitate and deeply enjoyed all the Oxford Learning project classes and book clubs in the spring and summer of 2020, which we are so grateful for. All those sessions taught him so much, and made the lockdown/stay at home time a positive experience. He still talks about what he learned and what he enjoyed during all those sessions. While he did in-person school in the fall, we noticed his reading and writing were a struggle, so went back to two tutoring sessions with you a week. Now that he has been back to online learning given the current lockdown, we are finding Xavier has been much more self-motivated, self-directed and seemingly on top of his class work on his own. We have been checking in with him regularly, and see him go off to work on things on his Chromebook during asynchronous time, during the evenings and on weekends. He finished reading The One and Only Ivan this weekend -- the first novel he read on his own! We watched the 2020 movie based on the book together last night and he was able to tell us when the movie diverged from the book... This had not been possible for him even just a few months ago. This is admittedly all new territory for us... A lot of reading, school work and getting things done relied on us or his brother to help, to read to him, to help him do assignments such as putting together a slideshow etc. -- there was a lot more struggle and uncertainty about if and when Xavier could do these things on his own. We are seeing a complete shift and change in all that now, so sharing all this to check-in and see what you may be noticing at your end. We also think shifting back to two tutoring sessions a week, which we are continuing with, has also been incredibly helpful to support his learning and grow his confidence... All this to say, thank you for all the valuable support and encouragement you have given Xavier, as well as the wonderful programming you offer. We are thrilled to have a child who now goes off to read on his own, take care of his school work on his own, and all with confidence and beautiful results. all the best / ... mom ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: “There is no force in the world better able to alter anything from its course than love.” ~ Gregory J. "I highly recommend Oxford Learning at High Park. My son's experience had been amazing. He gained confidence, independence and enthusiasm to learn. Educators at Oxford Learning give the attention and the skills that school sometimes is not able to provide. Amanda (Director of Education) and her supportive, friendly staff, are always there to answer any questions and/or concerns I had. His report cards say it all, he went from a "C" average to an "A" average. There is no magic, it doesn't happen overnight, but it happened, thanks to this great team of educators. They gave my son a positive attitude towards school. It had been worth every penny. Thanks for all your help." - Maria N. (Parent)

Good morning. My son, J, has been working with Hanna since the summer, and I wanted to let you/her know that she has absolutely changed his life. I am in awe of his complete transformation and confidence level when it comes to his school work. He has a new found excitement and enthusiasm for learning, and actually wants to do well! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

“My daughter started attending Oxford Learning High Park in January 2010. Her class marks at that time were very poor in several disciplines. Oxford Learning provided several teachers in all disciplines who were able to teach my daughter how to approach a problem. They also provided her with valuable tools including time management skill sets. This fall she will be entering Grade 12 with aspirations of attending University in 2014. Thank you Oxford Learning." - Jamie M. (Parent)
